Volunteering Canterbury is an organisation which has over 250 member organisations (not-for-profits) engaging volunteers to provide services in the community. Volunteering Canterbury supports these organisations by recruiting volunteers through its database website and, in addition, providing regular training and networking opportunities, and support on a one on one basis as required in matters of recruiting, retaining and recognising volunteers. Volunteering Canterbury also hosts an Employer Supported Volunteering programme, working with businesses to find projects of interest to them with groups in the community. Volunteering Canterbury also works with schools in the area (from Year 1 to Year 13) to introduce volunteering, its benefits to the community and to the students, and puts projects together for groups of students when requested.
