Regent On Broadway is described as being 'among the top performing arts venues in New Zealand', alongside Wellington St James Theatre, Christchurch Isaac Theatre Royal, the Auckland Civic Theatre and the Regent Theatre Dunedin. The auditorium itself can seat 1393 people; 721 of which are located on the ground floor, some of which can be removed for functions such as dinners and ballroom dancing. The theatre is state of the art and is well equipped with a modern counterweight flying system plus extensive lighting and sound systems. Adjacent to the auditorium is several small and large dressing rooms which are accessed over two levels. The complex also boasts a large function room, upstairs from the mezzanine, and a rehearsal studio, which is used for numerous activities, ranging from ballets dancing to stage rehearsals. It is the largest theatre in the greater Palmerston North/Manawatu region.
