Morrison Avenue Bowling Club Inc. was established in 1959, and has two cottula Greens measuring 36 metres by 36 metres. A vibrant friendly club, heading into the future with BowlsNZ. We are located at 30 Morrison Avenue in the Papanui/Northcote area of Christchurch. We provide bowling greens 7 days a week for both Female and Male players of all ages and abilities. Our season runs from approximately the third Saturday in September to the second Saturday in April. During the winter season we have indoor bowling (with outdoor bowls) with Ladies playing on Mondays and Wednesdays and the Men on Tuesdays and Mixed on Fridays (men run event) and Saturdays (ladies run event). During the summer season we have two Men’s Triples Tournaments and one Mixed Triples Tournament each month with two Ladies Triples Tournaments one in October and one in February. These are in addition to annual club members tournaments and three social annual inter-club games. We run a very successful Business House Tournament which starts in January and runs for 6-week period on Wednesday Evenings between 6-15 pm and 8-15 pm. This is a fours tournament and each team must have at least of two non-bowlers and no more than two full time bowlers. This is very popular and fills both Greens.
