Background:

The Mangere Youth Providers Network was re-established July 2007 through a series of meeting between Strive Community Trust, Genesis Youth Trust and Waipereira Trust. As a result of the need to determine how many Providers were working with youth.

Definition of Providers: Youth organisation, institution or community group that provide a service for Mangere Youth.

Aim & Objectives/Purpose:

To establish a forum that will create an effective support mechanism and network for Youth Providers in Mangere. 

The Group will focus its effort s in the following key areas:

  1. To develop an effective forum for Youth Providers to network
  2. To retain a “Finger on the pulse with youth in Mangere”
  3. To know what relevant issues and developments are for youth in Mangere
  4. To advocate and lobby for additional youth resources for Mangere
  5. To support youth providers through relationships and ‘joint strategic’ planning
  6. To develop effective case management strategies with services/ providers
  7. To work effectively with one another through collaboration of services

Rationale:

The Mangere Youth Providers Network was developed to determine a way as to how we can support each other and to maximise the few resources being spent effectively through collaboration of services.
