OUR VISION is to assure that no one goes hungry, Minimize waste, encourage others to become self-sufficient, Connecting people together socially, Help end Homelessness MISSION Feed the Need – Mind Body & Spirit Meals: Providing free healthy and nutritious meals to all who come through our doors. We are committed to improving the quality of life and restoring the dignity of those we serve when providing a hot meal to elderly weekly and monthly within our community. Helping our Homeless: Organizing & implementing plan with community to help provide support for those that are Homeless Food rescue: Collection of Foods donated from local supermarkets and other businesses, stores, sorted and given to organisations that give to people in need. Community Garden: Growing food, and involving community to take part, food will be donated to help people in need. Whangaparaoa Community Radio: providing a voice for the community through people volunteering their time, Opportunities for organisations to share news. the Recipients of our services are NEVER to be asked for payment. our services are entirely Charitable. To collaborate and work in with other organisations, to engage in service projects. Long Term Goals - • Provide to our community Indoors and Outdoors Activities, Meals and social gatherings. • Grow Vegetable gardens & Fruit trees at Whangaparaoa Community Hall • Acquire Large Vehicle to help with Transportation, on-going maintained & Travel costs • Encourage people to remain active in serving in the community. • be able to offer Training, work experience gaining confidence for our volunteers • Secure sponsorship of Foods needed. • Redesign kitchen, with the equipment and resources needed to be efficient, achieving high standards, following council regulations, Having knowledge of Safe food handling practice. Our Key Goals We are confident and motivated to progress positively to achieve our goals. Goal 1: Provide Healthy meals for Community. A) We achieve sustainable fundraising to realise our goals. B) We provide opportunities for staff and volunteer skills development. C) We will establish and grow a sustainable physical infrastructure. D) We establish sound, sustainable administration /operations and governance. Goal 2: Providing workshops. A) Inviting organisations, churches, Business professionals, and community to hold a workshop, to help teach educate, or share a skill, talent, B) To encourage other communities to be involved, give them the information, Knowledge, and resources needed to start up. Through collaboration of other organisations, sponsorships, & Donations Staying connected to others in same work. Goal 3: Unity across our diverse relationships is nurtured and respected. We provide opportunities to serve our community we develop and nurture diverse relationships that support our vision our organisation is sustainable so that it meets the needs of our guests. Goal 4: Whangaparaoa Community Radio. Set roster system for community to man station for few hours each week, filling up time slots share events, local news, community support on air to involve all ages in the community. Goal 4: Food Rescue Collecting food that would have otherwise been dumped or given to pig farmers, distributing to organisations that help people in need, collections every day of week. Sourcing Supplies Donations from: Countdown, Prisons, Farmers market & donation bins, Supermarkets, Businesses, Fund-raising, Sponsorship. Health & Safety / Dangers Meals: Food Allergies – identify ingredients used to create. Overall: Hygiene- Ensuring volunteers know correct food handling safety procedures, Comply with council policies, Health regulations. Safe Transportation- Delivery of hot soup, ensure it is well covered, those serving are aware of hot temperature, prevent burns Acknowledge our supporters The work we do cannot be achieved without the kindness of our supporters, we believe it is very important they are always acknowledged, by either or all Social Media, Our Website, Newsletters, at our Kitchen/ Premises, word of mouth, Media and any other ways we get the opportunity. Our supporters are very important to us and we will endeavour to promote and support them & their businesses, working in best for them and any way they advise. We also send a letter acknowledging their support to them via their email, by posting, or on their social media. When opportunity allow create them a Thank You Poster OUR ACHIEVEMENTS Immediate physical needs of our guests are identified and met. Love Soup has been established 3 years in Tokoroa and Rotorua we have been involved in service projects, Provided Food Parcels, Supplies to people in emergencies through The Koha Shed, Meals & run workshops. Love Soup Rotorua work directly with people in a Homeless situation from Feeding them meals 7 days a week to helping get them into homes, with community helping to furnish them via donations. D) Julie King profiled as Nationwide anti-synthetics campaigner. For helping to organise and involve 24 communities to protest Legal Highs E) Documentary made about Love Soup, with Radio NZ, Julie King has also been interviewed live on multiple regional radio stations.
