The Hope Community Trust is a volunteer led philanthropic social service provider which was formed from the community Services of the Rangiora Baptist Church. Our aim is to work closely with other social agencies in the Waimakariri District providing a wrap-around care approach for our clients. Our services are designed to work together and all contribute toward a wrap-around care model which address the needs of the entire person. Practical service meets short term needs and contribute to longer term material needs of the person. Emotional support requires longer term partnership. Supportive partnership is formed. Building relationships. Spiritual support is typically in partnership with local Church. Rangiora Baptist provides spiritual oversight and many of our volunteers. The Trust Hope Community Trust provides the following: Counselling - Individual, couple, children & families, group’s Community Support Workers x 2 (Advocacy) Food Bank Clothing Bank & furniture/household items Fruit & Vege Co-operative Community Garden Budgeting Advice Community Support Worker Chaplaincy Men’s Help Group & Emergency Firewood Men’s breakfast (community) Therapeutic Painting workshops Craft group Supervision of clients doing community service (probation) In a collaborative effort we support families and individuals working through issues, empowering them to find solutions while linking them in with all our services as well as in partnership with other Agencies. Restoring hope into families and individual lives. The Community The Hope Community Trust prides itself on being a wrap-around response service, with Counselling and Community Service as its core functions. Many times, a person will be introduced to the Hope Community Trust through other agency referrals, or word of mouth . We are still seeing as a community the after effects of trauma and stress as a result of the original Christchurch earthquakes and the many since including kaikoura in 2017. We work together with the person and other agencies to alleviate the difficulties of those experiencing hardships of whatever kind, including financial and endeavour to bring relief through whatever means are available while assessing each situation Our aim is to empower and restore their wellbeing and social skills to want to contribute to a vibrant , inclusive community.
