Halswell Community Project

Community Organisation

The Halswell Community Project (HCP)  is a local non-profit group that aims to make Halswell a well connected community and a great place to live.

HCP began as a small group of volunteers interested in promoting Halswell and Halswell clubs, groups, activities and businesses to Halswell residents and residents of surrounding areas. Halswell Community Project was incorporated in 2013 after two years of operating informally. Over the last few years it has grown and now operates out of the Halswell Community Hub with a small team of contracted staff and volunteers.

Our vision is to develop a strong sense of community in Halswell and help both established and new residents to get to know each other better; and to make Halswell a lively and exciting place to live, work and play.   We work towards this vision by developing and running initiatives to connect Halswell people with each other, support businesses and provide resources that encourage involvement in activities in Halswell.  We also support or assist other groups: churches, schools, clubs etc to develop community events, activities and places for everyone.

HCP has its own projects, including a monthly newsletter,  Community Market, Community Hub, Sharing Shacks, Welcome bags, Connections meetings,  various Facebook pages, Kids markets, coffee morning, events, and activities and much more.

HCP is at the Halswell Community Hub, 381 Halswell Road
