The Dan Davin Literary Foundation follows the Davin tradition of supporting and promoting New Zealand writers and writing, especially in Southland. This support is via student writing workshops and Dan Davin Award short story writing competition. The success of the student award has led to an adult Dan Davin Award which alternates each year between poetry and short story.
