Avon-Ōtākaro Network (AvON) are dedicated to creating an ecological reserve and multi-purpose river park in the Avon River residential red zone. Our objectives for the next few years are to advocate for clear and transparent decision-making around the red-zoned land; strong community engagement in the decision-making process regarding proposals and future implementation of interim and long-term projects; implementation of the Mahinga Kai Exemplar in Anzac Drive Reserve; advocate for an innovative governance model for the river corridor lands and waterways.
