Uptown Business Association is a part of the Business Improvement District (BID) programme, recognised internationally as a key component of a productive and high-value economy.
Uptown is one of 48 Business Improvement District programmes operating across Auckland, representing over 25,000 businesses.
The BID programme builds on the distinctive character of Auckland's commercial centres and business districts – as well as the energy and skills of the people who have businesses there, but do not replicate services already provided by council; rather they channel the capabilities and knowledge of the private sector to improve outcomes and achieve common goals. BID initiatives support local employment and business development.
