Community Services
Turangi SafeTea HQ was established in early 2021 where SafeTea HQ became an integral part of the Turangi Town Centre.
The space proved an effective platform for safety organisations to build community relationships, in addition to providing a stable base for ongoing volunteer recruitment, training and governance.
Safe Turangi is a non-profit community organisation development from the previous Turangi Tongariro Safer Community Council model set up to meet some of the social needs facing our local population, due to the demographic size and isolation of the Turangi Community.
Our primary goals for 2024/2025 are to continue to achieve, provide and contribute to the safety and well-being of the community by: helping to build community relationships of our safety organisations, particulary Neighbourhood Support, Police and Community Patrols, Coastguard, Blue Light and many more non-profit organisations.
