Playday Early Learning Centre

A special stepping stone from home for 20 months to 5 years old.
Playday is a unique not for profit early learning centre based in Orakei, Auckland. Playday is a mixed age centre that encourages strong family values through ‘tuakana-teina’ (young children learning from older children and older children taking care and responsibility for younger children) as they would naturally at home.
At the heart of the Playday experience is the building of open, attuned, caring and responsive relationships that foster a sense of security and belonging (Mana Whenua). With robust, trusting relationships in place our tamariki are able to confidently: follow their interest; explore; experiment; grow and make mistakes, whilst stretching their boundaries safely. In partnership with our families our Kaiako (teachers) and management aim to instil a positive sense of self in our tamariki by: nurturing each child’s natural wonderment; fostering kindness and curiosity; encouraging cooperation and supporting socialisation in a fun, engaging play-based environment.
