A mental health crisis in 1997 led me to revive my childhood hobby of scale modelling which became a passion that enriched my life thereafter. However, a 2013 Parkinsons diagnosis drastically reduced my time remaining for scale modelling.
Determined that my model collection and knowledge should benefit others, I built the gallery to promote scale modelling to all ages and raise funds for the Neurological Foundation.
1 in 3 Kiwis is affected by a neurological condition. The Foundation is the largest private funder of research into these, and gallery visitors are encouraged to donate to it if they wish.
