Kia ora. My name is Lisa and I am a fully qualified teacher with over 18 years’ experience working in early childhood education [ECE]. My background has given me opportunity to experience both in-home and centre environments, which has taught me that as societies need for childcare is increasing, so is the number of children in centres. I am stepping into the role of a home-based educator because I am a firm believer that when children are nurtured in safe and relaxed environments, wonderful things happen.
I want to support young children to become strong, capable learners, confident in their individual abilities and sense of self. Reciprocal, responsive and respectful relationships with children, whanau and the community are at the core of my teaching practice, which I strive to maintain as a part of providing quality early childhood education in my home.
