Lavendyl is Kaikoura's iconic lavender farm, situated 2.5 kms off SH1 north of Kaikoura. It provides a year round experience like no other.
The home of Myra's world-famous lavender-based ice-cream, it is the only lavender farm in NZ where you can chose from 6+ flavours of lavender ice-cream. It's made on-site, using eggs from our own chickens whenever possible. We also use our own lemons, elderflower and lavender.
The gardens are filled with lavender, flowers, natives and spaces to chill. While the cropping lavender is blooming, normally December to February, the scent of lavender pervades the air. The hum of the bees attracted to the lavender can be heard from the car park. At other times of year we have several varieties of lavender blooming in our flower borders.
The tea-room and shop provide an opportunity to indulge in lavender and other gifts. Try a lavender treat with a locally roast, fair-trade, organic coffee or a lavender tea. See our website for more information.
