Glen Eden Optometrists was opened in 1979 by Mrs Margaret Raby. Nigel Somerville joined the team in 1983 after completing his Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Optometry from the University of Auckland, eventually purchasing the practice from Mrs Raby.
