Our generation business is focused on meeting New Zealand’s energy needs in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.
We own and operate 11 power stations across New Zealand, including five geothermal stations near Taupo, thermal stations in Stratford, Te Rapa and Whirinaki, as well as hydroelectric stations in Clyde and Roxburgh.
We are one of New Zealand’s largest electricity generators and retailers, but we operate with the same genuine concern for our customers and communities as the smallest. Supported by our team of more than 1,000 people Contact’s purpose is to help New Zealanders live more comfortably with energy.
