Cam Taylor, Music Teacher

Want to learn to play the piano or keyboard? Love listening to music but want to get into actually making and performing it? Interested in jazz, blues, rock, pop, classical, early music, new music, microtonal music, improvisation, or music theory in general?

I'm an experienced and passionate piano and music theory teacher in need of some keen students of any age and level. I have taught piano and music theory privately and with small companies in Auckland since 2010, I have experience playing various types of music solo and in bands around Auckland, the rest of the country, and a few brief stints in Australia and the USA.

I graduated in 2013 with a conjoint degree in Music (Composition) and Arts (Mathematics and Japanese) from the University of Auckland, and have spent the last few years in contact with many of the world's leading experts on microtonal music, ethnomusicology and music history, as well as focusing on improvising as a means of tying together expression, knowledge, listening and playing. Music is what I live for, and I would love to help anyone interested along their own musical path.

My hours are pretty flexible, so let me know when works best for you and we can work around that! I live and teach in Parnell, but if you prefer, I can come to you also.

Email, text or phone me if you're interested!

Cheers,
Cam
