Libraries
Birkenhead Library is combined with an Auckland Council Service Centre, Plunket and the Citizens Advise Bureau.
Our community library hub is located in the heart of Birkenhead, situated in Nell Fisher Reserve, providing a pleasant area with shade and seating. The park features sculptures by Jeff Thomson which relate to the Birkenhead area and its history.
Birkenhead Library offers a range of weekly programmes for childrens, tweens and teens, as well as family and adult library programmes. Our community space features two bookable meeting rooms, an arts exhibition space, computers, and free wifi.
We aim to provide a creative space where people feel encouraged and inspired to pursue a lifetime of learning. Nōu tēnei wāhi – a sense of belonging. Mā mātou koutou e manaaki.
