Amokura Glass is one of the most unique and fascinating things to do in Rotorua. With over 10 years of experience, artist Heather Kremen deftly shapes molten glass right before visitors' eyes. Glass blowing demonstrations show off a variety of techniques including blowing, casting, fusing, and carving. Moving back to New Zealand to run her own studio, Heather brings the influence of her years abroad in the USA and Japan to her work. Her glass art can be decorative or practical, anything from world renowned sculptures to everyday objects meant to enrich a home. Heather's work focuses on simple elegant forms that are meant to show off the beauty of the material and the complex color designs that she creates. Each piece in the art gallery is hand made, taking time, skill and love to shape the objects out of molten glass.
