LETT, Barbara Elizabeth
Barb died on Saturday 5th November 2022 after a long and gutsy battle with cancer. Loved youngest child of Mary and Jack Nieper and sister of Chic Coleman and Colin and Allan Nieper. Married to Joe for 56 memorable years, Barb is the very much loved (but sometimes, much to her glee, seriously embarrassing) mother of Jodi, Meegan, Shelley and Perry, and one of a kind mother-in-law of Eddie, Simon and Louise. A super proud Nanny of grandsons Cooper and Harry Lunn, and loved aunt and friend. Barb was a vocal supporter and life member of the Wanganui Motorcycle Club and Kaierau Netball Club, and kidnapper of many a dog. Barb’s service will be at the Eulogy Lounge, Wanganui Racecourse at 10.00am on Friday 11th November, followed by a lap around her beloved Cemetery Circuit. On November 4, 2022, sadly Diane passed away peacefully at her Waikawa home, surrounded by her whanau, after a 12 month battle with cancer, aged 63 years. A treasured mum and mother-in-law of Mike and Nat, Les and Pnut, James, Dailee and Jimmy, Scott and Amanda. A much adored Nan of her 19 beautiful mokopuna. Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Avon Lifecare, Christchurch, on Sunday, November 6, 2022, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of Jan. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Warren Karin, Grant and Debbie, Raewyn and Aaron, Darnelle and Michael. Much loved granddad of Rachelle, Jasmine, Theo, Jai and Niko. WHITTINGTON, Anthony John (Tony)
Born on December 29, 1945 and sadly passed away on October 12, 2022, aged 76. Tony was from a family of 7 boys and 2 girls – Keith, the late Eric, Maurice, Peter, Denis, Joy, David and Christine. Always a character who gave us a lot of fun. For many years he lived with mother and took great care of her. Tony started his working life as a bricklayer, then working with brother Eric milking cows at Thornton. On a worker exchange program he worked on several farms in England and Ireland. Tony also worked for D&R driving trucks, the Rubber factory, and a Super Shuttle owner. Tony had eye surgery on his right eye that went wrong as a medical misadventure. When he was a shuttle driver he was named the One Eyed Cantabrian. Sadly Tony ended up with lung cancer. A huge vote of thanks to sister Chrissy who really looked after him making sure the hospital and finally the rest home were doing everything possible for him. In keeping with Tony’s wishes, a cremation has been held. A memorial gathering of Tony’s family and friends will be held later. Messages to denisw@snap.net.nz

It is with our saddest thoughts we remember Bev Allen who passed peacefully on Tuesday October 18, 2022 during her afternoon nap in her own home, she was healthy and happy. Bev was the beloved wife of Peter Allen (deceased), Mother to Jackie, Greg and Nikki, Nana to Sam, Jordan, Janelle, Laura, Sapphire, William and Ireland, and Step Mother to Neil, Lee, James and Megan and their many step-children and grandchildren. Bev was remembered at a private ceremony on Tuesday October 25 at the Whenua Tapu Crematorium.
She was very much loved and will be hugely missed.
