Passed away peacefully in his sleep on 29 November 2022 at Wellington Hospital, aged 90 years. Born in Kandila, Akarnania, Greece on 5th June 1932, John moved to New Zealand in 1965, where he married his beloved wife, Antigoni. Dearly loved brother of Akrivi (dec) and much loved father of Stathula and George, Dimitra and Andrew, Peter and Clare. Treasured Pappou of Alexander, Demetre, Jonathan, Petra, Pallas, Cristian, Yanni and Antigoni. Great-grandfather of Ilo and Aela. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Greek Orthodox Community and Wellington Childrens’ Hospital, would be appreciated and may be left at the service. A service for John will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral “O Evangelismos tis Theotokou" (Annunciation of the Birth giver of God), 3 Hania Street, Mount Victoria, on Friday 2nd December at 11.00am, thereafter interment at Makara Cemetery.
