Passed away surrounded by family in New Plymouth on Friday 13th January 2023, aged 84. Husband of Beverly, father and father-in-law of Vicky & Peter Stephenson, Robyn Burgess & Mark von Huben, and the late Kate Gottlieb. Dearly loved grandfather of Matthew, Laura, Paul, Richard, Sophia, Max, Grace and Louise. Adoring great-grandad of Heidi and Adele. Passed away peacefully in the presence of family at the “Croft” Palmerston North, on Sunday 15 January 2023, at the young age of 46 years. Much loved husband of Claire. Loved Dad of Dannielle, Eamon, Dom and Niamh, and their beautiful partners Hannah, Esther and Whetu. Much loved Poppy to Mackenzie, Macy and Clara. Loved brother of Duncan, Cherryl and Hamish. Iain will be sorely missed but never forgotten by his family, friends and his band family from the New Zealand Police Pipe Band. For those wishing to pay their respects Iain is at the “Croft” until his service. Robbo’s life will be celebrated in the Awapuni Function Centre, Silk Lounge, 67 Racecourse Road, Palmerston North, on Friday 20 January 2023 at 11.00am, followed by private cremation. To acknowledge Iain’s request, and your connection to him, he has asked that you wear a kilt or something Scottish. POULTON, Philip Joseph

Sadly died on Sunday, 15th January 2023, at Rahiri Rest Home, Dannevirke. Aged 65. Loved eldest son of the late Wilfred and Susan Poulton of Kumeroa and Woodville. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Tim & Annie, Sarah & Trevor, Simon & Julie and Julie & Martin. Much adored uncle to Sian, Jenny, Jack, Sam, Rosemary, Emily, William, Emily and Alice, and an instant friend to everyone he met. The family would like to thank IHC and IDEA Services for the care they provided throughout Philip’s life and in appreciation of this any donations in lieu of flowers will go to IHC. Special thanks to the support staff in his Masterton, Carterton and Dannevirke homes who provided care and love over the years, and the wonderful, caring staff at Rahiri and Dannevirke Community Hospital over the past few months. Philip’s fun loving, contagious humour and ability to connect with people touched many lives. In keeping with Philip’s nature, a colourful celebration of his life will be held at the Kowhai Chapel, 51 Denmark St, Dannevirke, on Friday 20th January at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation.

On Sunday evening with the tender love of his family, Michael very peacefully left us. Beautiful husband of Peggy. Loving Dad and father-in-law of Shannon, James and Karen, and Frankie. Besotted and loving Pop of Henry Michael Dilger. Dearly loved son of Brian and Maureen, and loved son-in-law of Eileen Moran. Much loved big brother of Lizzie, Katherine and David, Jo and Micky, Stephen, and Jaquie, and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. GEAR, Beatrice Betty (nee Evans)

Born Greenwich, England, in 1930. Sadly passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, in the care of Ashburton Hospital. Devoted and loving wife of the late Reverend Frank William Gear, minister of the Ashburton Berean Bible fellowship. The grieving mother of two sons; Richard died age two of Leukemia and eldest son Geoffrey tragically lost at age 40 years.
