THOMPSON, Lawrence Gavin

Passed away at Ashburton on January 4, 2023. Aged 68, now at peace. Treasured husband and soulmate of Gay, loved dad of Travis and partner Sarah, and the late Cole. Adored grandad of Elsie. Much loved son of the late Gavin and the late Dorothy Thompson. A loved brother and brother-in-law of Anthea and Barry McLauchlan, Patty and Ray Vercoe and Helen and Roger Carter. Loved uncle of Paul and Jude McLauchlan, Kirsten and Les Hullen, Steven Sugrue, Grant Sugrue, Andrew and Suzanne Kerr, Katherine and Richard Field. Loved great-uncle of Grant, Georgia, Koby, Polly, Charlie, Eli, Harrison, Rosie, Liam, Yasmin, Kieran, Josh and Abby. A good friend of Kevin Sugrue and Bruce Kerr.
Lawrence was
an innovative man and a friend and mentor to many.
He will be so greatly missed.
A celebration of Lawrence’s life is to be held at the Hinds Community Centre, 20 Rogers Street, Hinds, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 commencing at 2.00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Prostate Cancer would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
