CARTER, Maureen Joan (nee Baird)

Peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Mossbrae Healthcare, Mosgiel; in her 74th year. Deeply loved wife of Bruce, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Geoff and Naomi (Invercargill), Debbie and Graham Walker (Christchurch), loved Nana Maureen of Finn Carter and loved Step-Nana of Daniel, Joshua and Shannon Murch and step-great Nana of Lucas, and Xavier, beloved daughter of Raymond and Gladys Baird (both dec), daughter-in-law of Owen (dec) and Marjorie (dec) Carter, beloved sister and sister-in-law to Ron and Irene Baird (both dec) (Motueka), Lorraine and Ken Murdoch (Nelson), Annette and Raymond Anderson (dec) (Oamaru), Stewart and Margaret Carter (Cromwell), and Gordon and Barbara Carter (Oamaru), fun loving aunty to all her nieces and nephews and great-aunty to their children. Special thanks to all the staff at Ross Home and more recently Mossbrae Healthcare for their loving care and attention given to Maureen. A funeral to celebrate Maureen’s life will be held in Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel at 2.00pm on Thursday, January 5, followed by private creamation.
