Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, surrounded by love, aged 64 years. Dearly loved husband and bud of Kathleen for over 40 years. Much loved and incredibly proud family man. Father and father-in-law of Bernie and Craig Studholme, Aidan and Marianne Simmonds, and Connor Simmonds and Brit Wornall. Adored granddad of Henry and Freya Studholme. Treasured son of the late Marie and Peter Simmonds and son-in-law of the late Patricia and Colin Murphy. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Pauline and Alan Grant, Suzanne and Kevin Boyle, Margaret and Vern Jensen, Peter Murphy and Kaori Fujita, the late Michael Murphy, Mary and David Hay, Pauline Murphy and John Murphy and Lee Davies. Loved uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. Barry’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Theresa of Lisieux Church, 40 Perth Street, Invercargill, on Friday, November 11, at 1.30pm. An interment service will be held at Arrowtown Cemetery, Durham Street, Arrowtown, on Saturday, November 12, at 2.00pm. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Te Puna Wai Ora and Te Whatu Ora for their care, attention and support.
