Death

Glenys died on 31 October 2022, aged 81. Thankfully
her last weeks were made comfortable because of the loving care shown to her at Ropata Care Lodge. Glenys was the loved sister of Lorna Chisnall, Charles Simmonds and their families. Glenys was an artistic cartographer with Lands and Survey for 47 years. In recognition of her exceptional work on charting and mapping Antartica, a mountain there; Mount Simmonds was named after her. Glenys was a life member of Manor Park Golf Club and will be missed by her many friends from there. As per Glenys’s wishes a private farewell has been held and a celebration of Glenys’s life will be held at a later date.
