Passed away peacefully on 15 October 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Dearly loved wife of the late Bernie. Much loved father and father-in-law of Brenda and Steve (Whanganui), Kieran and Pauline (Sydney), Michael and Eunmi (Palmerston North), Eamonn and Sameera (Canberra) and Simon (Wellington). Much loved Nana/Other Shaugney, to Grace, Sophie, Sian, Ruairi, Oscar, Hera, Alia, Zayn Maryam, James Apii and Kate Rongo-Raea. Much loved sister and sister-in-law to her family in Belfast. John (deceased) and Carol Doherty, George (deceased), and Mary Doherty, Robert and Hilary Doherty, Margaret and Joe Sloan (both deceased), Jean and Ted Grant, and Tony and Kathy Doherty. Much loved sister-in law for over 60 years to Mary and George Boderick (both deceased), Frank and Nell O’Shaughnessy (both deceased), Clare and Jim Canning (both deceased), Paul and Kerry (deceased), Gerard, John and Barbara (both deceased), Monica, (deceased), Anne (deceased), Pat (deceased), and Prue O’Shaughnessy. Loved Auntie Renee to her many nieces and nephews in New Zealand and around the world.
Sincere, heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Huntleigh for the love and care they provided to Renee over the last three years, and especially this last week. Renee is now at home and a Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening 5.30pm at her home in Spiers Street. Renee’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Teresa’s Catholic Church, Karori Road, Karori, Wellington on Thursday 20 October 2022 at 11.00am, followed by private cremation.
