Death

Passed away peacefully in Christchurch on November 15, 2018, aged 90 years. Daughter of Hector and Lorna McDonald, and sister of Gillian Fastier (nee McDonald). Devoted and beloved mother of David, Andrea (deceased), and Christopher, grandmother of Julia and Anna, and great-grandmother of Marcus. Deirdre was a cherished and loyal friend to many with a fun and generous spirit, and will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to thank the kind hearted and extremely professional staff of Anthony Wilding Retirement Village and also Fay who was Deirdre’s long term carer and beloved friend. A Private Cremation has taken place. Deirdre’s ashes will be repatriated to the British Isles where her ancestors hail from.
