The Taradale Power Box Art Project brought together 15 local artists to beautify Taradale’s Power Box cabinets with the theme of ‘The History of Taradale – 130yrs’.

Yvonne Godfrey - parenting guru, award-winning author, speaker, media personality and founder/director of MIOMO ('Making It On My Own') will be joining us in Hawke’s Bay for a special parents’ evening, next Wednesday.

Yvonne will share her expert advice on how to 'Raise Independent Tweens and Teens' and help parents discover:

- How to stop the nagging and gain co-operation
- Parenting traps and how to avoid them
- How to develop resilient kids

The Taradale Power Box Art Project is an bringing together local artists to beautify Taradale’s Power Box cabinets with the theme of ‘The History of Taradale – 130yrs’.

You can watch them create their individual artworks by visiting our pop-up studio located in the empty shop adjacent to the Horse and Harvest off the Lee Road Carpark in Taradale.

The streets of Taradale are once again alive with the exciting Wooden Christmas Tree Community Art project – bringing the community together to decorate their town and bringing a real colourful and festive feel just in time for Christmas.

Thirty-six life-size cut-outs of Christmas Trees were decorated by Schools, art groups, individuals, professional artists and businesses. These unique and beautiful creations will be on display throughout December.

Everyone is encouraged to get along and take a look at what has been created for them and vote in the ‘People’s Choice’ award to WIN great prizes including vouchers from our sponsor Resene.

One lucky voter will WIN a $100 voucher from Resene and the decorator of the favourite tree will also win a $200 Resene voucher.

Voting opens closes 4pm 21st December.

• FREE candy floss with the team from ASB
• Lulu the Clown
• Santa at the Presbyterian Support East Coast Charity Store from 10am – 1pm, make sure get a photo and put your Christmas order in. Gold Coin donation.
• All our wonderful Cafés and Restaurants will be open and offering plenty of yummy treats to satisfy the celebratory mood.
• Get some early Christmas shopping with loads of Market stalls in Gloucester Street including hand crafts, gifts, Soy Candles, jewellery, gift baskets, plants, Christmas raffles, Cookie Time Christmas Cookies, shop special tables and much much more.
• The Christmas Shoppe is also open in the Taradale Town Hall from 10am – 8pm.

While in town make sure you take a stroll up Gloucester Street and take-a-look at the Wooden Christmas Tree Community Art Project and enter the People’s Choice competition. Thirty-six gorgeously decorated Wooden Christmas Trees will be on display giving Taradale a real festive feel, thanks to the schools, individuals and artists who decorated them.
