Cherished sister and sister-in law of Mary and Tom (dec), Dyna (dec), Kay (dec) and Coral, Val (dec) and Brian, Nola (dec) and Ian, Lillian and Jim (dec), June (dec), Shirley (dec) and John, Ron and Jean (dec). Passed away peacefully at Diana Isaac Retirement Village.
On November 1, 2022, tragically, aged 19 years. Adored son of Cameron and Lisa Finnemore, cherished grandson of Paul and Sue Beaton, and Ken (deceased) and Ann Finnemore, loved nephew of Mike and Michelle, Dawn and Andrew, Pip and Itamar, and Robert, and cousin and friend to so many. Sammy was happiest on his snowboard in the South Island mountains near Wanaka. He loved his Wanaka community of fellow snowboarders, his friends from Uni, and his friends from his childhood. He was a happy young man, who was kind at heart. He lived an amazing life and was deeply loved. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Sam Finnemore, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, the family intends to set up a donation page to support a young person in the future following their snowboarding dream. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sam’s life in St Andrew’s College Centennial Chapel, 347 Papanui Road, Strowan, on Wednesday, November 9, at 3.30pm, dress casual and bright.
Passed Peacefully at Hospice Southland on Friday, November 4, 2022; aged 82 years. Loved husband of Derene, loved dad of Wayne, David, and Sheryl. Loved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, a much loved grandfather, great-grandfather and a loyal friend to many. Grateful thanks to Fiordland Medical Centre, Southland Hospital, Hospice Southland, Dunedin Hospital, Te Anau District Nurses and St John Ambulance for their care for many years.
