Parenting Through Separation (PTS)

Parenting Through Separation is a free information course for individual parents who have separated or who are contemplating separation

The course is funded by the Ministry of Justice, and is designed to help parents understand and manage the effects of separation on their children, and how to put their children’s needs first.

The small group course creates a safe space that allows parents to share their experiences with other people in a similar situation, in a supportive and confidential environment.

Participants receive information and resources covering strategies for co-parenting with their ex-partner or other carer. Reaching agreement through a parenting plan, and how to navigate the Family Justice System are also part of this course.

Skylight runs courses in Kāpiti, Lower Hutt, Porirua, and in Wellington CBD.

The other provider of this course in the region is Family Works. Visit their website to check their dates and contact them directly. For all other areas visit the Ministry of Justice website

For Skylight enrolments please email [email protected] with your contact details.
