Sally Gill
We present in the gallery a selection of current work from widely creative and largely self taught artist Sally Gill, for whom art is a passion and a way to stay sane.
Inspired by natural landscapes and colours Sally creates these multilayered works using specially altered acrylic paints. Sally has worked to develop her materials and techniques over time to create the images she wants. She enjoys exploring neutral colours with contrasting bright hues. She plays with a mixture of ‘seeing what emerges’ from the paint and working to bring a work to where she wants it, capturing, layering, scraping, and moving the paint in different ways as it slowly dries over hours and days.
While Sally begins with an idea, each work becomes its own unique creation. She names each work but you may see in them something else... landscapes, water, galaxies, creatures in the dark..
