Sparks is back again in 2024 with our epic partner, Mitre10, and support from the wonderful Newstalk ZB.

Get your friends and whānau together to celebrate the 41st year at our city's dazzling fireworks extravaganza, featuring the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

This year's theme is 'music bringing us together to celebrate our place in the world and beyond'. Conductor David Kay will lead the performance and MC the evening.

New Zealand vocal legend Annie Crummer will also take the stage alongside local Christchurch singers Roslen Ulaula and Harry Burt.

No picnic? No problem. Lots of food and drink providers will be onsite for you to enjoy. Register your interest in being a vendor at our events.

Here's everything else you need to know:

  • This is a free, all-ages event.
  • Entertainment from 6.30pm, main show 7.30pm to 9.45pm.
