What do you make of Wellington Airport's expansion plans?

Katie Townshend Reporter from Dominion Post

Passengers using Wellington Airport can expect to be bussed to their aircraft during a billion-dollar revamp.
The 20-year redevelopment will also involve the airport effectively flipping its international and regional terminals. The northern terminal will be used for regional flights instead of the current international flights and the main terminal will be extended to the south and redesigned to cater for international and domestic flights. The airport has also confirmed the $31 million purchase of Miramar golf course, with the land to be used for additional aircraft parking.

Omāroro Open Day

The Team from Wellington Water

We’re hosting a community open day ahead of the next stage for the Omāroro pipelines project. Once built, Omāroro Reservoir will make the city’s water supply much more resilient in case of a disaster or operational failure. Right now, we’re installing the large pipes that will connect the reservoir to the existing network.

This next stage involves closing Wallace Street, Mt Cook, to traffic for a few months. A diversion will be in place via Wright St, and Adelaide Road will be the main route into the city to and from the south.

Interested? You’re welcome to attend the community drop-in session on Sunday 17 November 11am – 2pm at Massey University Executive Suite, Gate A, Wallace St. See you there.

Rental in Northland Village $310 Per Week

Heidi from Northland

Hi Everyone,

Firstly this is currently just a "what if" situation.

I am currently considering moving back to Hawkes Bay. If I find a place it would mean breaking my lease early. I will need to double check about subletting my unit but from what I recall, I would need to pay for rental listing fees and continue paying my rent until my property managers find a replacement.

I just thought that maybe I could find a way around this by possibly finding a single person or couple early without having to pay these hefty listing fees/pay double rent.

Is anyone here currently looking for a rental close to the city but far enough away for some peace and quiet :). Or do you know someone who is?

I have lived in this lovely one bedroom unit in Northland village for 5.5 years. My only reason for wanting to move is that I would like to live closer to my family.

There is a wee room next to the living room which I call the sun room. Right now I use it as my office space but you could also fit a small guest bed if you wanted to. The bonus about living here is that cats are allowed! They have a lovely hill to explore and I installed a cat door when I moved in so that's handy :).

I will be visiting Hawkes Bay this weekend and hope to view a rental then. I will know more after this weekend just thought I would see if there may be any takers ahead of time! It may well be that I will still need to get it listed the official way but it can't hurt to try different avenues 😉. I will wait with posting photos until I have my property managers permission to do so.
