The correct day is Tuesday so the notice now reads:
Wellington North Lions Club and Wellington Free Ambulance are holding an evening to instruct the public on the latest CPR methods and how to use a defibrillator.

All welcome.
When - 6.45 pm Tuesday 20th August
Where - Khandallah Town Hall
Cost - gold coin donation

Only 10 days to go before the Karori Lions' Super Garden Trail! The weather forecast seem to be suggesting that a bit of wet weather should be clearing nicely for the event!

Poll: Should Wellington city councillors get a free lunch?

Katie Townshend Reporter from Dominion Post

There's no such thing as a free lunch, unless you're a Wellington City councillor.
Six years after Andy Foster led moves as a councillor to scrap catered lunches at committee meetings - saving ratepayers $40,000 - the new mayor has now decided to reinstate them. He said the backflip followed pressure from councillors, while also promising to spend less on the midday spread than previous councils. "People felt when you didn't have lunches provided on days when you were working through [into the afternoon], councillors tended to disappear all over the place to get lunch. It reduced team bonding." What do you think- should councillors get lunch provided?

Rental in Northland Village $310 Per Week

Heidi from Northland

Hi Everyone,

Firstly this is currently just a "what if" situation.

I am currently considering moving back to Hawkes Bay. If I find a place it would mean breaking my lease early. I will need to double check about subletting my unit but from what I recall, I would need to pay for rental listing fees and continue paying my rent until my property managers find a replacement.

I just thought that maybe I could find a way around this by possibly finding a single person or couple early without having to pay these hefty listing fees/pay double rent.

Is anyone here currently looking for a rental close to the city but far enough away for some peace and quiet :). Or do you know someone who is?

I have lived in this lovely one bedroom unit in Northland village for 5.5 years. My only reason for wanting to move is that I would like to live closer to my family.

There is a wee room next to the living room which I call the sun room. Right now I use it as my office space but you could also fit a small guest bed if you wanted to. The bonus about living here is that cats are allowed! They have a lovely hill to explore and I installed a cat door when I moved in so that's handy :).

I will be visiting Hawkes Bay this weekend and hope to view a rental then. I will know more after this weekend just thought I would see if there may be any takers ahead of time! It may well be that I will still need to get it listed the official way but it can't hurt to try different avenues 😉. I will wait with posting photos until I have my property managers permission to do so.
