DON'T DO THIS......
Came across this the other day. This relief pipe from a hot water cylinder was dripping so someone thought "Silicon will fix this!"
These pipes are SUPPOSED to drip when the cylinder is heating. If blocked up it could potentially cause your hot water cylinder to blow up - see Myth Busters video to see what happens when 180 litres of water instantly turns into 198,000 litres of steam - Ouch!
If your relief pipe is ALWAYS dripping or dribbling, call us, we'll fix it.
