Sign up for the exciting new leagues at the Kilbirnie Recreation Centre!
16th October to 14th December

Starting up this October at Kilbirnie Recreation centre are 3 new and exciting leagues to cater for all interests. For those that work locally to Kilbirnie, we will be starting an indoor lunchtime football league with new equipment catered specifically for the sport. Additionally, there is a variety sports league which will expose players to a range of sports from pickleball to 3v3 basketball. Finally, for the younger ones, there will be a volleyball league that introduces some fundamental basics for the sport then introducing players to competitive matches. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
