Monday Sport Blast From The Past: Jonathan Wyatt

Nicholas Boyack Reporter from Community News

Who can remember Jonathan Wyatt?
In 2005, he stormed to victory in the World Mountain Running Champion on Mt Victoria. In front of what was called a "boisterous crowd" of 10,000 Wyatt blitzed the field.
Wyatt is a six-time world mountain running champion and an eight-time winner of the world mountain running grand prix series.
He also competed at two Olympics and held national records in a range of middle distance events.
These days he lives in Italy, with his Italian wife Antonelle Confortola.
He was elected president of the World Running Association Council in 2017.
He began his athletic career in the Hutt Valley.
