Hi everyone, I'm Lorna, a Stuff travel reporter. We're doing a story on how affordable travel within NZ is. For those of you who have travelled within the country post-lockdown, we'd like to hear whether you've been able to find suitable flights, accommodation and activities within your budget. Do you think accommodation providers and tourism operators are doing enough to entice New Zealanders to explore their backyard? Please let us know in the comments below, your message may be used in our story.
Our August SuperSeniors Newsletter is out now, and it's filled with lots of handy information and opportunities for seniors.
This issue includes a story about the benefits of volunteering and how to get involved, as well as an update on the changes to NZ Super and Veteran's Pension.
Even if you aren't over 65 yourself, check it out and share it with the older people in your life.

Since the launch of our #backyourbackyard campaign it's been so heartening to hear from the tourism operators our content has helped. We still have so many incredible stories left to tell, but we also want to hear more from you - what inspires you, what is important to you, and what would you like to see from us at Stuff Travel? Please take our survey, and share it with others, the more input we have the better we can do. And thanks to the lovely folks at Hawke's Bay Tourism we’ve also got a luxurious giveaway for two as a way to say thank you for your time and input.
Lydia Bradey, of Wanaka, was among six New Year Honours recipients to be recognised at an investiture ceremony in Queenstown on Wednesday.
Canterbury-born Bradey, 58, was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to mountaineering.
She was the first woman to climb Mt Everest without supplementary oxygen and remains the only New Zealander to have achieved this feat. Bradey has scaled the peak six times, most recently in May 2019, and is the only woman to have successfully guided Mt Everest expeditions four times.
