My Kind Neighbour nomination
Our neighbour Jeanette is the best.
We moved into our new house 2 days before Level 4 lock-down. We didn't know anyone in the neighborhood. Jeanette kept us supplied with fresh produce from her farm and her friends' farm too, all through the mailbox so contact-free. She even donated wool for hobby distractions. There was another couple she invited to stay at her place who lived in their own caravan in the driveway, they became part of Jeanette's bubble. We drank our own cups of tea and the occasional glass of wine across the road from one another. It was so nice to have friendly faces to be in contact with.
But it was during the arrival of a local pig named Basel when Jeanette achieved hero status with us. She came over and wrangled the large beast using a rope and her voice, and swiftly redirected him off the property (photo attached). Jeanette is friends with all the local stray animals and people!
Lest we forget...
On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
