Spontaneity has been my MO in life, it makes for much fun, so starting a commercial business to merge the mobile into a clinic spontaneously seemed like a gem of an idea
But unfortunately, I ended up signing a commercial lease 18 days before the first lockdown in 2020! When at the time I had a successful Mobile Massage Business with almost no overheads. I remember thinking to myself "What can possibly go wrong?"
The story between 2020 and 2024 is vast. Let's say I survived - but barely.
But what I learned = is something like that line in the film The Hurricane - when Lesra, the young hero in the film - who found Rubin Carter's Book The Hurricane (in a bargain bin in a book store) said: "I didn't find the book, the book found me".
- I think that I got the business, but the business got me - its molded me into what I think is a better person with better values especially and although it's given me immense challenges with so many wins and losses. The Main lesson was choosing to battle through and not give up.

A Police investigation is continuing into an incident that unfolded in Beach Haven last night. A woman was located later in the evening with injuries and is continuing to receive medical treatment this morning. Detective Inspector Callum McNeill, of WaitematΔ CIB, says three people arrived at a … View moreA Police investigation is continuing into an incident that unfolded in Beach Haven last night. A woman was located later in the evening with injuries and is continuing to receive medical treatment this morning. Detective Inspector Callum McNeill, of WaitematΔ CIB, says three people arrived at a Sunnyhaven Avenue property in a vehicle just before 7.30pm.
βAn altercation has occurred, with the female occupant of the address being forced into the vehicle.
βAs this has unfolded a firearm has been discharged, and this has been the subject of multiple reports from neighbours to Police.β
A large amount of Police resource deployed into the area after 111 calls were received, including the Police Eagle helicopter.
The vehicle was not located, however later in the evening Police responded to Mackay Drive in Greenhithe.
βA woman was located with injuries outside an address, and we have established that it is the victim from Beach Haven.
βShe has sustained injuries and is in a stable condition, receiving treatment.
βThese injuries are not in relation to the firearm being discharged.β
Detective Inspector McNeill says he acknowledges members of the community who quickly contacted Police to report information.
βWe have been speaking to a number of witnesses in the area, and this will continue.
βI know this incident will be alarming to the Beach Haven community, and we are treating this matter very seriously.
βWhat I can say at this stage is that we are following lines of enquiry into this matter and those responsible.β
A cordon in place at the Beach Haven address has since been stood down, however a Police presence will remain around the North Shore communities, Detective Inspector McNeill says.
βThe public will continue to see our staff in the area in response to what has occurred.
βWe are asking anyone that has information and hasnβt yet spoken to investigation staff to come forward.β
