Yes laudable to donate $250.000, though considering their profits that's a miserly amount. Per store might come close to paying it forward!!
But asking us the public to buy $20 worth of food from their store, which by my reckoning $20 × 20.000 = $400.000, will more than recoup their donation!!! And this campaign will surely bring in more than that.
So ..I shall be donating my $20 directly to my food bank or buying $20 directly from local growers who are struggling.

You can't blame that on inflation and shipping issues, there are no wars going on in the India and New Zealand area, and even if they are paying the new Living Wage rate to the staff, I honestly can't see the justification for that kind of price increase
Just Grocery Company greed/ price gouging.
My pension went up 7.22% in the same period.
