Is any official reaching people in need?

Keiko from Wallaceville - Whitemans Valley

I saw an elderly lady standing under a tree avoid sudden intense rain on my street on the way home from a supermarket. If it were a normal circumstance, I would've offered a ride. I didn't know what to do but went to check with an umbrella if she was still there. She had gone at that time. I don't know where to ask, but I wish to make sure the help would reach to those with limited access to information. I feel helpless and guilty as a human.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have read up to Lorraine's reply.
I thought what I could've done as I understood not allowed to give her a ride with this Lock Down regulation. If there is next time, I will ask her phone number to check if she has any support. If she is reluctant to give me her phone number or her address, I will show my phone number and tell her to feel free to call. I will carry my phone number printed in a large font from now on.
I hope someone like her in the loop of the support line.
Thanks

WIN: A Resene makeover

Jo Haywood Reporter from Homed

Hey neighbours, everyone's had a part to play in the fight against Covid-19, but here's a chance to say thanks to someone you know who kept working for the benefit of the rest of us - nurses, doctors, pharmacists, teachers, supermarket employees and many, many more.

We're giving away three prizes with Resene, each worth more than $500, including a Resene colour consultation, a $350 Resene voucher and the latest Resene fan decks.

So if you know an essential worker who would love one of these prize packs, click here to nominate them.

Will you make the most of changes to DIY rules?

Jo Haywood Reporter from Homed

Hey neighbours, how do you feel about the changes to building consent rules for low-risk home projects?

The government says the change will save homeowners time and money, but pro builder and The Block NZ foreman Peter Wolfkamp, is advising caution if you're planning a DIY sleep-out or office. Find out why, here.
