Twenty Regional Public Health (RPH) staff have been called on to contact people who may have been exposed to measles over the past week. Two people who contracted the illness visited multiple public locations around Wellington from October 7-12, potentially exposing large numbers of people to the infectious disease.
Those locations included City Fitness Johnsonville, New World supermarkets in Thorndon and central Wellington, and the Dylan Moran show at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre.
Meet Eddie Writes. He's 7, and won a Wellingtonian of the Year award for philanthropy. He spends his spare time tie-dying t-shirts and ironing patches on bags to sell online - raising $10,000 for Wellington Regional Hospital. We bet there's lots of Eddies out there. Tell us about your kids' kind deeds in the comments.

Too often we think that picking up litter is someone else’s job - but collecting rubbish is such a simple way we can help our community, the environment and our own health and wellbeing.
This is why Resene is proud to sponsor the “Walk & Collect Weekend” on December 7 and 8. Take a walk over the weekend and collect a bag of rubbish in your community - it's simple but with a collective effort can make a big difference.
It's free to participate and there are prizes to be won - including a $200 Resene Gift Card! Simply head to their event page and register your interest.
