My Prospa Local Business Hero nomination

Elspeth from Te Aroha

Shirley and Glenda run Piako Stationery Supplies in Te Aroha. They came to the town when many other shop keepers were moving away. They have set up a beautifully presented shop which supplies most of the stationery needs of the town plus gifts, magazines and specials to suit young and old, male and female. They are always friendly and helpful and make a real effort to get something in if requested to do so. Last year at Christmas I enquired about special water colour paints. A few weeks later they checked to see if I had been the lady who had enquired and they told me they had got them for me if I still wanted them but there was no pressure. i thought it was amazing that they ordered them in on a whim and that they remembered me enough to check if I still wanted them. I think that is wonderful service and I feel they should ne rewarded for taking the risk setting up in a rural town.Their address is 160 Whitaker St, Te Aroha and their phone 078849110 or 0272721339 orpiakostationery@gmail.comMy name is Elspeth Robinson ( mikelspeth@gmail.com)

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
