Mauao track closure

Communications from Tauranga City Council

Mauao’s Waikorire track will be closed this Thursday morning from 7am-12pm approx (depending on the weather).

This is to ensure the safety of walkers/runners during the removal of a wilding pine on the southern face of Mauao. Signage will be in place. The Base Track, 4WD and Oruahine Tracks will remain open.

Dog bylaw

Communications from Tauranga City Council

From 1 August until 31 January 2021, dogs are prohibited in Shark Alley, the area south of Mouturiki Island on Mount Maunganui beach.

Council will be placing signage in the area to highlight the changes to the public.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to help keep our wildlife safe.
