SPCA Taupo Annual Book Fair

We are pleased to announce our much loved and anticipated annual Book Fair will be held on 14,15,16 July at 80 Tamamutu St. ( same venue as last year, opp. Taupo Primary School,)  9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. each day. We will be grateful to receive donations of books, board games and puzzles which can be dropped off at our Op Shop in Oruanui St. or the Animal Centre, 131 Centennial Drive. Collection can be arranged - please ring the Op Shop 3773946. We would also be pleased to hear from any of you wishing to volunteer sorting books and setting up for the Fair. Should the council spend rate payers' money fighting hotel development?

Hi nieghbours,
The future of a planned eight storey hotel in Taupō's CBD is headed into the courtroom in the new year.
Mediation, facilitated by the Environment Court, between developer Cypress Capital Investments Ltd and the Taupō District Council, and involving others as interested parties, has ended with no announcement of an agreement acceptable to all.
So the matter will now be decided by the Environment Court.
