3 DAYS to go until Saturday 15 April and the next Feilding Repair CAFE. Our team of skilled volunteers will be available to assess the mending of your small household or personal items. SAVE MONEY, REDUCE OUR WASTE and EXTEND THE LIFE OF TREASURES ... like my trusty old recycling bucket that is the go between inside and the Manawatū District Council wheelie bin ... its about 45 years old and was beginning to split around the top ... SO I GLUED IT

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
