Otira Coach Driver - Samuel Emil Yde .

Lance from Hornby

* HELP WANTED *

My family are looking for information and any photos of a once prominent Otira stagecoach driver - Mr Samuel Emil Yde .

Mr Yde was born in Belgium in the 1880's and emigrated to American firstly before arriving in New Zealand.

He passed away on the West Coast in 1952 and was laid to rest in the Karoro lawn cemetery near the Town of Greymouth.

Firsthand accounts of Mr Yde will be getting scarcer by the day unfortunately.

Can you please ask anyone alive who may have known him from the West Coast if they have any photos or good stories about him.

We currently have only one Photograph showing Mr Yde on our Left , his Son in the middle, and wife on the right hand side.

Thank you kindly for reading this post.
Very best regards,
Lance Neame

Draught Proof your home with Exceed

Exceed - we fix windows & doors

Hi Neighbours,
Did you know that living in a cold house in winter can affect your health?
If house temperatures fall below 16°C, the risk of respiratory illness increases. This is because cold houses are also usually damp, which can lead to respiratory symptoms.

One of the simplest steps toward a warm home is to stop draughts and keep the heat inside your home.

If you want to learn how to minimize the risks or how to identify draughts on your windows and doors, read our blog post or give us a call on 0800 25 25 00
